D'Arcy Wentworth

I'm researching my ancestry for a book I'm writing. D'Arcy Wentworth took a paying passage to Australia on the Surprize, and while en route, met and made pregnant a young convict called Catherine Crowley, who subsequently gave birth to my six greats grandfather, William. This entry about Surprize carrying only male convicts is therefore incorrect. Please could someone with more access to records than I do review and revise. Thanks. Various websites report that Catherine Crowley and D'Arcy Wentworth sailed on Neptune (1780 ship), not Surprize. The Wikipedia article about Neptune mentions both individuals. Acad Ronin (talk) 18:50, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Acad. I don't know if I'm just confused from reading so much or if I actually read this somewhere other than Wiki, but I'm now clear that D'Arcy and Catherine were both on the Neptune, and that they only sailed on Surprize to Norfolk Island.
