Sultan Hamid II's father Sultan Mohamed and his death at the hands of the Japanese

The Japanese enacted mass arressts of Malay and Chinese elites in the Pontianak incident, and started mass executions of them. The Malay Sultans of Kalimantan were also arrested and executed, among them Sultan Mohamed.

The Japanese claimed their massacre was a response to Chinese, Arabs, Indians, and Sultans who were allegedly plotting to rise up against Japanese rule and massacre the Japanese.

Dutch military position exaggerated

Hamid was an ADC to the Dutch Queen [Adjudant in Buitengewone Dienst bij HM de Koningin der Nederlanden]. This is an honorary position, given to foreign rulers. It is neither politically important ("the highest position as assistant to the Dutch Queen") nor a "significant military position" in the Dutch military.Royalcourtier (talk) 06:28, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
