Lebanon's Hezbollah.

[edit]

I don't think they are really a state within a state. They are too public. Officially a political party. The electoral system in Lebanon encourages organizations like Hezballah. They are really a so called Non State Actor.

Layout over-emphasises recent US usage

[edit]

By including discussion of recent US usage of the term in the early passages of this article, I’m concerned we may be inadvertently strengthening the association of the “deep state” with the Trump administration.

I don’t dispute that Trump’s appropriation of the concept is noteworthy, to be clear: he invoked it all the time, and (AFAIK) the phrase was not used in US political discourse before he introduced it.

Neither do I mean to invoke Template:Globalize, because the article as a whole uses examples from all over the world.

For the reasons described above, I think it’s best to ask other editors a few questions before making significant changes:

  1. Is Trump’s usage of the term given excessive prominence in the current article?
  2. If yes, how can we remedy this?
  3. Is this the only issue to be remedied, or should we consider major changes to the article as a whole?

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)

[edit]

The article wrongly depicted the RSS as a Deep State organization by the opposition Congress Party supporters. 106.222.218.238 (talk) 17:33, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
