/* Association Football */ Additions

Pilkington F.C. play at the same level of football and are, in fact, a better team than St Helens Town at the minute so I believe Pilkington F.C. should get a mention in this article. Additionally, Cheeky Bazzas F.C. are a popular team in St Helens getting near 100 fans on two different occasions, more than the average attendance of both Pilkington and St Helens Town.

Pilkingtons addition is still included while I find supporting sources which I know are out there, but unclear to what weight. St Helens Town have a clear competitive history, with the FA Vase

Cheeky Bazzas was removed as there is no clear notability. It requires multiple secondary sources, not fan pages or their own homepage or Facebook group etc. Koncorde (talk) 14:01, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Historical Confusion in section 'Formation' under History

One uncited sentence reads "Less well-known is the Windle connection to witches. In 1602, two women were sent to Lancaster for trial, while a decade later Isobel Roby was submitted to Sir Thomas Gerard, accused of upsetting the ship upon which Princess Anne of Denmark was arriving. She was finally executed at Lancaster, along with the Pendle and Salmesburg witches, on 20 August 1612." The article then links to the article on Queen Anne. Given that the eventual Queen Anne was not born until the 1665, either the dates here listed are incorrect, the article links to the wrong individual, or the entire story is inaccurate in some major way (or Isobel Roby was a far more powerful witch than she's being given credit for). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:4040:123E:B800:6410:30E:C17C:7681 (talk) 19:46, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Big gap at end of 'Cultural references' section needs removing

St Helens. → St Helens, Merseyside – This was the original name of the article, a user seemingly objecting to Merseyside being mentioned has moved it to this. The new name has an added full stop so it doesn't conform to normal standards. This is because the St Helens name is used for the disambiguation page, there being Multiple St Helens in the UK and World. This is like motivated by a Association of British Counties or Friends of Real Lancashire pov. Multiple redirects now exist as a result of this move, they all need to be undone.   - This edit, by the editor who initiated the move to drop the "Merseyside" disambiguation, suggests that same editor may be intending to file a move request to drop the "Merseyside" disambiguation.
