Fodrin

[edit]

The page for fodrin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fodrin) is a stub containing little to no info. Considering that Uniprot has alpha&beta-Fodrin as synonyms for SPTAN1&SPTBN1, wouldn't it make sense to 1. remove that page 2. replace it with a redirect to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectrin and 3. adding to this page the fact that 'fodrin' is a less common term (Boron's Medical Physio uses it, though) for non-erythrocytic spectrin?

Citations

[edit]

There are a number of citations in the text of this article that have no references in the references section (everything currently in the harvard references style). Does anyone know where those came from or what papers they refer to? I think without the papers it makes no sense to keep these in the text. Thanks, delldot | talk 00:31, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it's a shame, but I think I'm going to have to remove the inline citations without corresponding references. I left a note on the user's talk page and didn't hear back. If anyone has any idea where they're from, feel free to put them back in! Thanks, delldot | talk 05:27, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In some cases, I managed to find the articles I think the citations were referencing by doing a pubmed search. Whether or not they're the same articles, I made sure they do have the information cited. The citations I was not able to find are Baines and Pinder, 2005; Tuvia et al, 1999; Lux, 1979; and Liu et al., 1987 (which you can find in this version of the page). If anyone knows what these references are or wants to take a shot at finding them, it would be much appreciated. delldot | talk 01:03, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me add this info

Effect on Nerve Cell Stretchiness: recent experiments showed that the abscense of beta spectrin renders nerve cells brittle and causes them to break - citation: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6951071.stm - I can not seem to succeed in correctly inserting this info

Illustration

[edit]

The illustration of the cytoskeleton complex has spectrin misspelt. Can somebody correct that? Thanks! WingsEdge (talk) 19:12, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
