Page title
[edit]Question for discussion: should this page be located at "The Southerner (train)" or "Southerner (train)"? The former is the current location but I think the latter would more correct, or at least more consistent with other article names for NZ trains. For example, we have "Bay Express (train)", not "The Bay Express (train)". Any thoughts? - Axver 06:10, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- It should be "Southerner (train)" --Lholden 19:43, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

- Southerner (train) → Southerner (New Zealand train)
- Southerner (passenger train) → Southerner (U.S. train)
– The current disambiguation is rather useless. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 01:06, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
- Support as this makes sense. Argos'Dad 02:29, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
- Support non controversial and common sense. Suggest next viewer closes and moves them. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:51, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
- Support per nom. "Southerner (train)" and "Southern (passenger train)" should be repointed to the disambiguation page Southern (disambiguation) -- 76.65.128.43 (talk) 05:52, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
- Support the New Zealand move. However, for the American train, the usual disambiguation is to use the railroad's reporting mark or name – i.e. Southerner (SOU train) or Southerner (Southern Railway train). — Iain Bell (talk) 16:26, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
- Comment it can be moved again, after it is moved to "US". Right now, both trains are passenger trains, so the disambiguation keys make no sense. -- 76.65.128.43 (talk) 09:44, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
- Support I can't contribute to the US naming discussion, but I've set up the NZ name as a redirect for now, so that the NZR Passenger template can be changed now. That makes it easier to tidy up the remaining links with AWB once the page gets moved over this redirect. Schwede66 19:52, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
