is incoherent. Perhaps the author meant someting such as
- by Athens with its Second Athenian Alliance againts the allies of Chios, Rhodes, and Cos as well as the independent Byzantium
in any event, I cannot tell without researching the war.--Gamahucheur
- Athens was still in charge of its league except for the revolting states. "Athenian Alliance" wasn't my edit, it's the Second Athenian Empire or League as it's called. I changed it.--Mole Man 01:11, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
