Double standards?
[edit]Compare this article and that one. I think it would be fair if they were named Soviet-Georgian War and Sochi conflict or Red Army invasion of Georgia and Georgian invasion of Black Sea Coast (or something like that). Personally I favour the first set of names but both of them are better than the current situation. Alæxis¿question? 07:46, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Alæxis, please stop these puerile games that border on trolling. Try to find just one scholarly source mentioning Georgian invasion of Black Sea Coast. The comparison of these two conflicts is simply ridiculous.--KoberTalk 08:25, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Huh, haven't I written it clearly enough? Again, I favour the first set of names. Alæxis¿question? 08:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok. Sorry for that. But what was the purpose of this yet another round of chat then? --KoberTalk 09:54, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- I probably should've written this at Soviet-Georgian War article talk. I'll propose the renaming there soon. Alæxis¿question? 10:16, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

- Prefix "Soviet-" usually refers to the Soviet Union and not to the Soviet (council). By the time of the war Soviet Union did not exist. Formally, red army handed power from Mensheviks to the Soviets (council), and Georgian SSR was established, wich then joined Transcaucasian SFSR, which then joined Soviet Union upon its establishment. "The disputed area had been inhabited by Megrelians, subethnic Georgians, an Abkhaz-Adyghe tribe, Zygs, since ancient times."
[edit]This should either be removed, or be validated by a trusted source (with evidence). Claiming a Mingrelian presence in the territory looks like romantic nationalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.172.127.210 (talk) 09:40, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- I'm for removing it altogether as the question of ancient inhabitants of the land has very little to do with this conflict. Alæxis¿question? 12:58, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

Infobox "Result"
[edit]Please note that Template:Infobox military conflict#Parameters states against "result" that "this parameter may use one of two standard terms: "X victory" or "Inconclusive"." The infobox has been amended to reflect this. Please read the template "result" guidance in full before amending or reverting. It would probably be best to discuss any proposed change here first to seek consensus. Thanks. Gog the Mild (talk) 03:47, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
