Viewers

[edit]

Hey guys, I added viewers for the first episode Bizzaro. Please do not delete it. I think it would be really good if we added the rating for all episodes. Please respond and do not just delete it! (Wikirocks2 07:23, 29 September 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Too late. You know the policy on verifiability. If there is no source, it goes. It would be impossible to cite Kryptonsite--even though they are not reliable enough to use anyone--because it's a front page announcment and not a separately linked page.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 13:41, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Synopses

[edit]

I've re-instated a re-written episode synopsis with a source. As far as I know there's no policy or guideline prohibiting future episode synopses, yes we can wait until the episode airs… but that's not a requirement as long as a reliable source can be provided. Matthew 11:46, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nice assumption of bad faith, but please remember you don't own this page and as such I'm not required to obey how you'd like things presented (I simply couldn't be bothered to write out the extra code). Your message itself though seemed to imply I was editing the page because you edited it? You'll actually find I have this page watchlisted because I'm a fan of SmallvilleMatthew 12:00, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Christina Milian

[edit]

...Would it be possible to mention Christina Milian, who was a guest star in "Action"?? (Wikirocks2 01:55, 27 October 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Only if we mention all the other guests on this page. So, if you'd like to go back and add their names in the plot section, you could do that.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 01:58, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You made it even better! **hehe** Thanks! (Wikirocks2 08:32, 31 October 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Kryptonsite

[edit]

Alright. You know what? I can't take it anymore. If you look past the bad reputation that Kryptonsite has been given by the Wikipedia, you will see that everything they have said they were right about unless they are rumors, which are usually true. I wanted to wait until mid-season to write this, but hasn't every episode on the spoilers pages and every spoiler been true? They had the titles of the first few episodes months before the season aired and before anyplace else including the official CW site had them. Now I have argued this with many, many people, but so far, all of the titles have proved true. Now if Wikipedia has a law against Kryptonsite, sorry for the interruption, but I have been watching the show since the start and ever since, the titles have proven true and so have the spoilers. The Season 7 page should be up-to-date with the Kryptonsite episode list like this: 1) Bizarro 2) Kara 3) Fierce 4) Cure 5) Action 6) Lara 7) Wrath 8) Blue 10) Gemini 11) Persona 12) Siren 13) Fracture 14) Hero Now you can wait until January to see if all of this is true, but you all know it is. It's ridiculous that you call this wiki an encyclopedia of everything, and I agree on that (it is) but it should use Kryptonsite. Why? Not because everyone else says that it is false, but because it has the REAL episode list. They know, and they go through much work to bring us useful information about upcoming events and episodes. I strongly believe that we should put this information to good use and edit it onto the page. Sorry if I angered anyone, but I was completely ticked knowing that we did not have any of the info on here they give us every week. Thank you for their time and visit Kryptonsite.com - you might learn something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vezz801 (talkcontribs) 18:50, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who said Kryptonsite has a bad reputation? No one that I know of. The problem is that their site is not considered a reliable source, because they are a fansite. Please read verifiability, where it states that it isn't about what is "true", but about what we can show. Unfortunately, we cannot show that Kryptonsite was given those titles by someone up the ladder, or that their "official write-ups" are attained officially. It isn't to discredit them, it's about Wikipedia standards and rules, and we have to be able to attribute reliable sources to our information. If Kryptonsite conducted a personal interview, and they posted that where we could source it (i.e. not just on their front page), then that would be ok. But getting information from scoopers, or unattributed producers makes it hard to consider them reliable sources, per our definition of such. I read their site all time, and love it. THAT is the reason, along with the fact that Craig Byrne has written two official companions, that their site makes our external links cut.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 18:55, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How come episode 10 dose not air until December 13th? Y2J RKO (talk) 20:49, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A writers' strike has caused all television shows to have shorter schedules. The CW is apparently spacing the episodes they have left out.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 22:45, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
They're airing the new episodes in Feb. because it's sweeps month. Arthur Fonzarelli (talk) 21:35, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well that sucks! Y2J RKO (talk) 22:21, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, they are spacing out the episodes. After Gemini two weeks ago, we have "Persona" on Jan. 31, "Siren" on Feb. 7, "Fracture" on Feb. 14, "Hero" on Feb. 21, "Traveler" on Feb. 28, and the season finale, "Veritas", on March 5. (Of course, aside from Persona, the air dates are subject to change) And yes, the CW itself has confirmed these titles, and while I got them from Kryptonsite, the CW officially announced them recently. So these titles at least should be added to the Season 7 page and yes, Veritas is the confirmed Season Finale, and if they don't return, the SERIES FINALE. Deleted Summary

[edit]

Just curious why my summary of the episode Fracture was deleted? My sources were cited... is there some sort of wiki etiquette I don't know?

"Lois discovers that Lex has found Kara, who is suffering from amnesia, and follows him to Detroit after her. The busboy at the diner that Kara works is obsessed with her, and when Lex arrives the busboy shoots him fearing that he will take Kara away. He then holds Kara and Lois hostage. Clark, in efforts to find them, enters Lex's mind using experimental Lex Corp technology; here he discovers Lex's good side, child Alexander, is still alive. Chloe uses her powers to bring back dead Lex leading to a personal struggle with the moral aspect of her powers." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.32.106 (talk) 02:57, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the show's air dates dates are wrong seeing as they air earlier in Canada... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.32.106 (talk) 02:55, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea when they air in Canada, but under general airings I've never heard that Canadians get to see the show first? The show's primary network is the CW, and it airs on Thursday's at 8pm on The CW. If it gets aired sooner than that somewhere else (which is slightly odd, since post-production work can sometimes be going on right up until that Thursday morning), then we need proof that it aired earlier.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 03:20, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well it airs on the A-channel, this is their website's schedule, http://www.achannel.ca/london/tvschedule.aspx, clearly listing Smallville with the episode name. I thought it was kinda weird it aired in Canada earlier, but I watched it myself, I'm not sure how much more proof you need...
This seems like one of those times when someone does get it in advance (which has happened before, but just isn't the norm). What I'll do is revert the information back in, but use the A-channel's website link to show that it aired earlier than normal.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 03:42, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episodes number

[edit]

See this. It's said that 6 additional episodes are expected to be produced, and that would mean a total of 21. What do you think? (P.S. Sorry for my english...) --83.184.165.237 (talk) 20:18, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're English is just fine. The New York Times, which has a higher reliability than TV Guide, says that it will be 5 episodes. But, to be fair, I've included the TV Guide source and reworded the statement to read "5 to 6 new episodes". Since we don't have a date for the "sixth" episode, we can't actually put it in the episodes section yet.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 20:51, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for now. I'll try to improve my English. Bye. --83.184.165.237 (talk) 21:16, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Traveller

[edit]

1. We don't actually know that Lex had her killed. We only know that she was shot by her driver and that later on Lex has her pendant. While we may assume Lex had her killed, it could have been Lionel, and Lex had the police give him the pendant after her body was found, this makes sence as he had admired it earlier. It is unlikely that in the real world evidence would be handed over, especially still covered in blood, it is still an assumption that Lex organized it. 2. The pendant has a white Swan as it's insignia, not the veritas symbol. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.49.235.50 (talk) 03:24, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That is the insinuation, just like when Grant was killed. Just as you pointed out, the thing was covered in blood, which makes it evidence and police wouldn't give that up. Also, look at the pendant, you'll see the "V" at the top of it.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 11:26, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

valid sources

[edit]

Is tv.com a valid enough source for everyone? If you don't like kryptonsite as stated above, since it's a fan site, tv.com has a few of the upcoming episodes listed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.160.98.31 (talk) 15:53, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TV.com is user submitted, just like IMDb and Wikipedia. So it isn't considered "reliable" by Wikipedia standards.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 16:05, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Besides, the Smallville portion of TV.com gets its information from Kryptonsite...which defeats the purpose of "alternate to Kryptonsite". DonQuixote (talk) 04:43, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Airdate

[edit]

I was just sitting here, wondering if the new episode would air tonight, tommorrow or last night. I check on here, it says it will air tommorrow. But then I remember (thankfully it is posted at the bottom) that all season 7 episodes air in Canada one day before. My problem is that shouldn't it be changed to the Canadian date? Since it is the first time the episode airs. (then have an asterics saying that all episodes in American air one day later) Shouldn't the air date be the FIRST date the show is aired? Tydamann (talk) 21:57, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Always start a new thread at the bottom. Now, they shouldn't because it is an American show, and it's standard release date is Thursdays at 8pm, because that is when the CW airs it. Since the CW owns it, they get primary. Also, this is something weird on the Canadian channel's part, because they've never shown it a day earlier before now. What makes it even odder is that a lot of post-production stuff can be happening all the way up to the day it is supposed to air (several seasons have had episodes that needed last minute effects just a couple hours before airing). What's odd is that if Canada is getting it a day earlier, they probably aren't getting complete episodes in some cases (like whenever the post-production work is more than normal).  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 22:39, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I alwways thought new threads were started at the begining (my bad). I thought it was a Canadian and American production, some of the filming is done in B.C Plus hte fact that there are several Canadian actors (I'm not saying that only canadian actors are cast in canadian movies, and American actors cast in American films) But I'm not arguing. Thanks for the post. Tydamann (talk) 00:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's ok, I was just letting you know for future reference. The show is filmed in Canada, but it is produced by an American company. Warner Bros. and the CW (and formerly the WB) are all American production houses. The fact that they film in Canada is irrelevant. If they filmed in Japan it wouldn't be a Japanese show.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:55, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chloe and the Bizarro episode

[edit]

The way Chloe comes back to life in the morgue sounds exactly like the 1996 Doctor Who movie, in which the Doctor regenerated in the morgue, and another Doctor Who episode, 2008's The Doctor's Daughter, in which Jenny is revived at her own funeral. Wonder if it's a reference to the Time Lord? It's OR anyway, so I can't add it to the article (shame really). Digifiend (talk) 13:24, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, she didn't regenerate. Besides, the morgue is a rather common place to come back to life (other than the place of death) because most people eventually end up there. DonQuixote (talk) 13:47, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Summary refs

[edit]

Are these really needed? We are really just citing the summaries with episode citations of the same episode. What's the point of stating the obvious? Corn.u.co.pia Disc.us.sion 07:29, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Something silly that was requested in the season 1 FAC, which was subsequently placed in all the articles for consistency.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 11:12, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see. It's quite strange though, why would they request that? (It's a rhetorical question, no need to reply) Corn.u.co.pia Disc.us.sion 06:39, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Pendant in the Episode Where Swan's daughter was killed

[edit]

I think the Pendant actually had a Swan on it, not the Veritas logo on it. Lex just thought it might help him. Anyone actually see the veritas logo, because the main symbol is a Swan. --RossF18 (talk) 04:08, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikia page has it being the Veritas symbol, but I believe you're right in that it was a swann. You kind of see it here. I wouldn't be surprised if it was both. Season seven was plagued with continuity errors (i.e. There was never a Veritas symbol in the stained glassed window behind Lex's desk. It was always just an "L"). They could have had the swann initially, but in the next episode, when we see it again, it could have been the Veritas symbol. Won't be able to confirm unless someone downloads the episodes, or we wait till September 18 for the DVD.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 04:22, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Main cast

[edit]

Why does the main cast need to be listed since the introduction covers the infobox?Russell [ Talk ] 15:13, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's really a copy out section beause the page, along with some of the other seasons, gets funky with the long infobox. Unlike the season one page, and the season two page, which are complete enough that because of the fleshed out lead (which this page has, but it just isn't enough), lots of various sections and subsections, the infobox doesn't bleed into the episode table. In normal circumstances, bleeding it is fine, but that's with prose info, and it funks up the table format for the episodes. Once I have completely gone though the season seven companion to get the info we need for the page that "main cast" section will be removed, as it was with season 1 and 2. Right now, I'm just about done with season three's info (see User:Bignole/Smallville season 3...just got a few other things to look at, and getting some images).  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 15:49, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just read the season three sandbox and it is great. In the sentance "Ken Horton pulled a scene in "Phoenix" before it aired, which involved Chloe tells Lionel that she will no longer help him dig up information on Clark." Tells should be telling.Russell [ Talk ] 17:18, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it hasn't been copy edited. LOL. I'll fix that if you already haven't.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 18:04, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Any future series?

[edit]

Do we know what will happen next? Any series 8? Even if it is unknown I think the article should say that it is unknown whether a new series will be made and when etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.219.161.119 (talk) 09:49, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A couple things. This isn't the place for general discussion of the show, this is also not the newest season. There is already a season 8 for the show, and yes there will be a season 9. The season 8 page should not mention season 9, because season 9 has no bearing on it. The next season is mentioned at the main page, as well as the list of episodes page.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 11:06, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article Reassessment

[edit]

I also think this article could use reassessment. ChaosMasterChat 02:32, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Colour contrast problems

[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
