I'm not sure if a tattoo sleeve can be just a colection of smaller tattoos. I always thought of a sleeve as a single design covering the arm, 'running out of room' with smaller tattoos is just having alot of tattoos, not sleeves.
I'm not sure if the list is really any help, it's pretty obvious if someone has sleeves.
And 'sleeve tattoo' is grammatically strange, it's a sleeve or tattoo sleeve, not sleeve tattoo, that just makes it sound like someone has a shirt sleeve tattooed on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.13.219.98 (talk • contribs) 02:48, 24 December 2006
- But tattoo sleeve could also refer to the artificial sleeves that are sold to look like tattoos, so both are ambiguous. BrainMagMo (talk) 22:52, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Since I really don't see what people's sexual preference has to do with this subject, and moreover since it only mentions two people as homosexual with no mention by the other names, I'm removing these. If someone really has a good reason for this to be mentioned please respond. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.93.130.253 (talk • contribs) 17:08, 10 January 2007
- I agree that theoretically a sleeve is (or should be) a single design, but those who have tons of tattoos that covers an arm would claim that they have a "sleeve," so since that is a common use of the term, I think it's appropriate for the article.
- Yes, but it's helpful and interesting to see a list of famous people with sleeves.
- Agreed - the article is titled this way to conform with other sub-articles about specific types of tattoos. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bearboir (talk • contribs) 05:43, 13 February 2007
Many people who have several tattoos will add a pattern in the background to connect all the smaller tattoos in to one, single design. Flip through a tattoo magazine some time, you'll notice that many people have seemingly useless pattern at or around the elbow. It's just meant to bridge the gap between the two sections of the arm. -- Jelly Soup (talk) 11:38, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
List
[edit]While it may be appropriate to give examples of people who have sleeve-style tattoos, the list right now is ridiculously long and has to be trimmed or split. LeaHazel : talk : contribs 01:35, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- If the list can't be trimmed, it could at least be organized so it's not so massive. -- Jelly Soup (talk) 11:44, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Tattoo sleeve banning
[edit]It would be interesting to know why the marines(?) have banned tattoo sleeves —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.193.165.87 (talk) 12:35, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
