Linking to general database tree in ref

[edit]

@Pietadè I'm well aware that the population and language statistics are in different sections, but calling what I'm doing "disruptive editing" is a bit much. In the demographics section, we mention only the language distribution, so providing a ref which links to the general database tree is highly unnecessary when a more specific option is available. We can have a second ref, as hard as that may be to add, so that one ref goes to the population data, and the other goes to the language data. Wouldn't that be great? These are pages with "asp" extension (to create server-side dynamic web pages; see also server-side scripting) and to reach the correct table/data one has to click on correct links and to copy/paste the name in a Search box (down in the left corner) and then click on ">" mark. ☆☆☆—PietadèTalk 17:07, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've figured out how to access the data itself, yes, but you're not really responding to why we can't just have two separate refs, one to the Donetsk population table here and the other to the language table here. I know with server-side scripting that we can't have a link to the data for Shumy itself (i.e. this gives an error for you while for me it shows the Shumy data) but linking to the Donetsk-level data will always be possible, so why not just do that?
