Article bias

[edit]

It has been brought up that the introduction of the article lists positives for the company that all cite the company's official website, which may be an indication of bias. I'm going to flag this article for potential bias, until the article is improved, and cites more neutral sources. Ozhu (talk) 00:08, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The company's webpage is primarily used for sales figures and the like. Some would say being large is a positive, others a negative, personally I see being big as neutral. In any case, I'll switch out some of the sourcing. --ThaddeusB (talk) 00:45, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have added several more sources. If concerns remain, please let me know which statements specifically you find problematic (merely using the company's website does not equate with bias and is a common practice). --ThaddeusB (talk) 01:42, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, the article is much more neutral than it was a couple days ago. Ozhu (talk) 05:08, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The addition of the "analyst Derek Scissors" without citing his firm is troubling. AEI is a think tank that prioritizes free enterprise, with a focus on international trade. They are funded almost entirely by donations associated with the Republican party. This statement wouldn't be without a counter in most forums. There are certainly items in this article that stress the geopolitical implications of the transaction, and not in ways that Scissors would have us believe. https://www.revealnews.org/article/how-china-purchased-a-prime-cut-of-americas-pork-industry/ 208.251.187.170 (talk) 15:49, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Name change

[edit]

As noted in the article, the company changed its name to WH Group in 2014. Can someone please retitle this article as WH Group, with Shuanghui redirecting here? I don't know how to do that. RCTodd (talk) 13:38, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Headquarters Location

[edit]

Although the article says that the company is headquartered in Luohe, China, it seems like a number of sources suggest that WH Group is actually headquartered in China. Company websites (such as this: http://www.wh-group.com/en/about/operations.php, and this http://www.wh-group.com/html/about.php) as well as external sites (such as this: https://www.reuters.com/companies/0288.HK) suggest that it is actually located in Hong Kong. Could it be that it is their subsidy Shuanghui is headquartered in Mainland China but WH Group itself is located in Hong Kong? The fact that Shuanghui is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (as found here: http://media-whgroup.todayir.com/2018042316500030_en.pdf) might suggest this.
