The Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj (New temple) is just a new building. It is an improvement to the old temple building. The deities, the name, the festivals, the temple traditions, the administration are same. The Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj's current structure was built in 2010, it is the same temple was established in 1823 by Swaminarayan. The layout I suggest is: History starting with Swaminarayan in 1823, Gujarat earthquake, the rebuilding; Architecture: old temple, new temple; Deities; Administration. Many Hindu temples like Somnath, Vishwanath were rebuilt after destruction though established much earlier. We have only 1 article for them. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:50, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- While a new building has been made a short distance from the old one, the old one has been restored as well - can you please explain how we can encompass both on the same page? Around The Globeसत्यमेव जयते 08:39, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- I perceived that the new temple is the substitute of the old temple. That is what the official site portrays. So the old temple is restored and is functional too? --Redtigerxyz Talk 09:49, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- Restored, yes. I think its more of a Museum and the newer temple is the centre of the religious activities. There is still a temple within the old complex though. Around The Globeसत्यमेव जयते 15:07, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- Maybe then the new temple should be titled Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj and this one Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj (old temple). Also, Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj should have the history starting from Swaminarayan, not Gujarat earthquake. The new temple is now really the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj established by Swaminarayan: which carries the deities consecrated by Swaminarayan and has the same religious priesthood, however the structure (old temple) built by him fell.--Redtigerxyz Talk 16:42, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
