Jocques Clemmons
The section on him is simply poorly written. It seems as if someone is trying to justify the shooting. He was a felon and that is why he couldn't have a gun. The source mentions his probation status as the speculated justification for him running. As he was a felon it was a crime for him to have that gun (a class c felony) which would have been a violation of his probation.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 22:08, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
- No, no one is trying to justify anything. "By 2017, he was on probation, and not allowed to carry a gun." with two in-line references simply relays the facts from reliable third-party sources. Otherwise, how would you like to rephrase it please?Zigzig20s (talk) 22:45, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
- The source mentions that he was on probation but not that this was the reason for his loss of gun rights. His felony is the reason for that loss of right. The source mentions his probation only in the context of speculation. Simply that he may have run because he was on probation and that as a felon he was committing another felony by carrying which would have violated his probation.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 16:36, 17 September 2017 (UTC)

- In anyway that actually represents what the sources say.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 00:30, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
- I think the current text is fine and don't fully understand what the problem is. So if you see something different, please suggest a different text. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 00:51, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
- Would you prefer, "By 2017, he was on probation; he was also not allowed to carry a gun"?Zigzig20s (talk) 00:54, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
- The source mentions that yes he was on probation. It doesn't mention Tennessee 40-35-303 (Probation eligibility terms) as the reason he couldn't carry a gun. It mentions his status as a felon as it is illegal, a felony in fact, for a felon to carry a gun. But nevermind.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 02:12, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
