Future display of aircraft
[edit]An anonymous editor has made the following addition:
- In the Fall of 2007 it was announced by the NASM that Shoo Shoo Baby will be swapped for B-17D Ole' Betsy upon completion of the Memphis Belle - with Shoo Shoo Baby being placed on display At the NASM in Dulles, Virginia.
This needs to be referenced. The aircraft that the editor is referring to is also called The Swoose, which is a very historic aircraft, probably more historic than Shoo Shoo Baby. There is discussion [1] at the Smithsonian about sending the unrestored Swooze to the NMUSAF for future restoration and they may send Shoo to the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, but I have seen no evidence that this has moved beyond the discussion phase. Memphis Belle is years away from being ready for display, so it is unlikely that the NMUSAF will take on another B-17 restoration until Belle is complete, and Shoo will remain at the NMUSAF until then, as far as I can tell. --rogerd (talk) 21:18, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
