Copyedit Nov 2016
[edit]I've done copyedit on the article. Here is a summary of my changes:
- I saw there was some British English and tried to use those spelling conventions given the subject matter
- dmy dates were used in the prose and mdy dates in the list. I changed all of them to dmy for consistency
- I changed some of the Conan Doyle titles from double quotes to italics, for major works generally following their individual articles and Canon of Sherlock Holmes
- a fair amount of rephrasing for clarity, conciseness, and grammar
- there were tone issues in the episode summaries where it indirectly addressed the reader by posing questions – this is unencyclopedic, so I rephrased the sentences
- There were a few places I was unclear of the meaning and left things as-is.
Issues:
- there are three or four passages which are unclear (particularly episode 14 and 16). I marked these with clarify / clarification needed
- some information in the lead is out of date
- I feel the article could use a bit of organisational work. Information about the adapted characters, for example, is stated in 2-3 places. I feel that could be simplified and the redundancies cut to make for an easier read.
- The Citation/Footnote system is unclear. I've added a maintenance banner regarding this.
I'll keep this page on my watchlist for a couple weeks and try to be available for any follow-up. – Reidgreg (talk) 21:58, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
