Requested move

Here's a question for the move proposer: do you have reliable sources that use the diacritic in English usage? I've participated in several move discussions that revolved around the issue of whether to use diacritics or not (Novak Djokovic, Franjo Tuđman to name a couple) and the guideline-based argument is to follow what the majority of reliable sources use. In a quick google search, I only saw one instance with the accent, although I only looked through the first few pages of results, and I wasn't really checking the quality of the returns either. In Ireland, the acute accent (fada) is usually used with Irish names, even in English and even when the subject uses an English surname (e.g., used in popular media outlets such as newspapers), and is therefore appropriate per ENGVAR. (See Talk:Pádraig Flynn for a previous similar discussion.) However, me saying so is merely OR so, to avoid researching each case as it comes up, I will request comment at WT:IMOS. — AjaxSmack 01:30, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggested the name change based on the fact that all pages on Wikipedia link only to the Seán McGarry, whereas at the time no articles linked to the Sean McGarry. There are reliable sources that use the name Seán McGarry, Republican-News.org and Oireachtas.ie for a start.
