Sean Conley (physician) → Sean Conley – Right now there is a redirect at Sean Conley that takes visitors to Scripps National Spelling Bee. However, that article does not mention a "Sean Conley" anywhere at all. It seems to me that this title should belong to the White House Physician. The edit history of the existing redirect is a single edit back in 2005. A loose noose (talk) 23:42, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- Support. Clearly the primary topic. Rreagan007 (talk) 23:56, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose:' The redirect was simply a mistake which I have since fixed. Every winner of the spelling bee has their name redirect to List_of_Scripps_National_Spelling_Bee_champions unless they actually have their own page. The physician title of this page clearly distinguishes between the doctor and the spelling bee champion which is why it should not be removed. FigfiresSend me a message! 02:27, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- The 13-year-old spelling bee champion can get a hatnote at the physician's article, but he can't have the redirect when there is an actual article of someone with the same name. Rreagan007 (talk) 07:10, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- That gives me a better understanding of why the redirect was created, but I am not sure it justifies claiming the undisambiguated namespace "Sean Conley" when we have another Sean Conley who is the president's physician. If people are typing in "Sean Conley", I have the sense that they are far more likely to be looking for the physician rather than they are the spelling bee champion who is not independently notable enough to have his own page. A loose noose (talk) 02:53, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- Support per A loose noose. There's nothing wrong with the idea of this redirect, but we should really favor the searches going for the actually notable subject, rather than the barely even a BLP1E one.--Yaksar (let's chat) 06:42, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- Support. No other article is using the title. The redirect got 36 hits all last year. The newly created article on the physician could have been written right over the redirect. Station1 (talk) 22:32, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. Otherwise unused names, such as those of the five most recent winners, Ananya Vinay, Nihar Saireddy Janga, Jairam Hathwar, Gokul Venkatachalam [as of this writing, Janga, Hathwar and Venkatachalam are redlinks] and Vanya Shivashankar, are certainly welcome to redirect to the List of Scripps National Spelling Bee champions. Those winners, such as Sarah Wilson [1934 champion], who share names with subjects of other Wikipedia articles, are obviously eligible for listing as WP:DABMENTION links on their respective disambiguation pages, while winners who come under WP:2DAB, such as Sean Conley, can be specified with a hatnote pointing to the List of Scripps National Spelling Bee champions. - Support As the only independently notable article with that name.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 21:17, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

Staying with Trump as Personal Physician?
[edit]It's unclear if Sean Conley has left the administration or not. Can anyone confirm? Sucker for All (talk) 20:22, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, so I guess I'm just right. Sean Conley's now the go between for Donald Trump's health Sucker for All (talk) 23:27, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
