Schofield Barracks, Hawai'i → Schofield Barracks —
Is there any objection to a move back to Schofield Barracks? Viriditas (talk) 22:19, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
- No, it would appear there is no reason to disambiguate. - Epson291 (talk) 20:06, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
- Depends — CDPs always get the state name (no more reason to remove "Hawaii" here than to cut it from Hilo, Hawaii), except when the CDP name is the military installation. In such cases, longstanding precedent has supported moves; therefore, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio redirects to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Is "Schofield Barracks" the official name of the installation? I'm not clear if S.B. is the entire installation or just the barracks area of a larger facility. - As User:Nyttend notes, it depends on whether the article is about the CDP or the army installation (which also seems to be called Schofield Barracks.[1]) — AjaxSmack 02:13, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Also, the apostrophe should be removed from "Hawaii" per WP:UCN and WP:UE. — AjaxSmack 02:26, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Agree with AjaxSmack about the spelling. The state's article is at Hawaii and that's the usual English spelling. Jafeluv (talk) 09:18, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

- Per what's done at other military bases, as long as the installation itself is named S.B., the article should be there. As long as the names are the same, whether the CDP is the entirety of the base doesn't matter that much (and really isn't very likely, either); for example, the CDP of Fort Hood, Texas is a part of Fort Hood, although the CDP is 15 square miles and the base was started with nearly 250 square miles of area, and has likely expanded since. Nyttend (talk) 12:20, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Support. Clearly there are issues with the current name so it needs to be moved somewhere. This appears to be the proper move so let's make it happen. Vegaswikian (talk) 01:02, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
