How many?

[edit]

It sounds like only one of these was built, but it never says that explicitly.--75.80.19.125 (talk) 23:06, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Off Altitude

[edit]

The introduction stated that the Proteus can fly at 65,000 feet for 18 hours; however, later in the design and development section the obtaining of an FAI record altitude of 63,245 is referenced. Presumably the initial claim is incorrect :) 134.223.116.200 (talk) 15:03, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

explaining the design efficiency?!

[edit]

Could anyone of you aircraft-engineer-cracks explain please how the design functions? Why do you need a tandem wing to reach the high efficiency claimed for the airplane? Why these pods with the fins? Why does this not just produce enhanced drag?

My wish is the same for all articles about rutan-designs which you thankworthily put up to the net...! --HilmarHansWerner (talk) 22:28, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
