Etymology

[edit]

The etymological link of this toponym to Hawaii should be mentioned. Badagnani 08:50, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding article

[edit]

Hi, I'm expanding this article and adding some of my photos in commons - thru' trial and error, as I'm still learning wiki lingo. Would be great to have some help with it. Teine Savaii (talk) 08:18, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article reads like a travel brochure, not an objective article. What can be done about this?Tenorlove (talk) 03:07, 30 May 2012 (UTC)Tenorlove 29 May 2012[reply]

Orthography

[edit]

I was a bit surprised to find the article begins with the spelling Savaiʻi, but the article location uses just the plain apostrophe ' instead of the koma liliu ʻ. Moreover, the page Savaiʻi does not exist, not even just as a redirect to this page.

Could someone with an account at least create a redirect page for Savaiʻi? -- Cheers, Erik Anderson -- 205.166.76.15 (talk) 22:55, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, good spotting. 'Okina is a Hawaiian term. Samoan publications mostly use an apostrophe for the glottal stop. Yes, it should be standardised...but I'm not an expert. I'm creating a redirect page Savaiʻi now, unless someone else has done so. Thanks!teinesaVaii (talk) 08:04, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
oops, someone has already done it. teinesaVaii (talk) 08:06, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Triggered by \bsouthpacific\.org\b on the global blacklist
  • http://www.samoa.southpacific.org/savaii/savaiiservices.html
Triggered by \bsouthpacific\.org\b on the global blacklist

If you would like me to provide more information on the talk page, contact User:Cyberpower678 and ask him to program me with more info.
