I am from Thailand. I would like to discuss about this province's name. The spelling in Thai of this province is a little bit more like "Stool", but I am also aware that they don't want the province name to have any english meaning (only God knows why they don't want the closest spelling).

So, in my opinion, it should be more like "Satool" instead of "Satun" (We also have a word "Sa-toon", which is spelling much alike "Satun" and means "low life scum").

Just an opinion from Thai people. Thank you for your appreciation.

However the offical transcription according to the Royal Thai General System of Transcription is Satun, and it's that transcription which we use here, and which gets more and more commonly used in Thailand as well. And too all my (limited) knowledge of Thai a final ล is pronounced like a N, and not like a L as a ล at the beginning of a syllable. However as the RTGS skips the syllable length, Satuun would make it more clear that the a is much shorter than the u. andy 20:32, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What use is it, to add hundrets of sights, when there is no hint where to find them? Its rather confusing than enlightening. BTW: Bold Thai script in italics is quite hard to decipher. --hdamm (talk) 14:16, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sources modified on Satun Province

[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just attempted to maintain the sources on Satun Province. I managed to add archive links to 1 source, out of the total 1 I modified, whiling tagging 0 as dead.

Please take a moment to review my changes to verify that the change is accurate and correct. If it isn't, please modify it accordingly and if necessary tag that source with {{cbignore}} to keep Cyberbot from modifying it any further. Alternatively, you can also add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page's sources altogether. Let other users know that you have reviewed my edit by leaving a comment on this post.

Below, I have included a list of modifications I've made:
