Extremely localized term

as described in the entry, this is a term used in NYC and LA, but I've lived throughout upstate NY for decades where this isn't a term, and at least 10 other states and major cities. This isn't a term I've ever encountered in Chicago, Honolulu, Denver, the Twin Cities, Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, any of the major cities in Texas...
