Removed spam-like content
[edit]I have removed a great deal of product listing , puffery, and excessive links. Thing is, I think it really is a major OEM supplier, and, in its earlier incarnation, was very well known to the build-it-yourself computer market. As nobody owns an article, if people add spam to articles about their companies, we simply remove it. Since it's on NASDAQ, we'll probably be able to find one or two real referencesDGG (talk) 23:30, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
I too removed more spam content and added in a bunch of third party references. Seems to me that several contributers have added to the article and cleaned it up (removing all the marketing jargon and news/financial section)perhaps we can consider removing the refs and cleanup flags. Added a tech sec with refs. I'm ok removing the spam since more refs are here. Removing now. Jinxynix (talk) 22:44, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
product interface section
[edit]I will remove the entire product interface section, because:
- all of this is generic information
- none of this is specific to STEC
- it appears to be just an excuse for more spam links back to STEC's website
- all of those topics are covered in relevant WP articles. Where they are mentioned in this article, they should be wikilinked

news (financial and press) section
[edit]I'm gonna go ahead and remove it as it serves no other purpose than to fill up space- and it's a small enough job for me to get my editing toes wet. The rest of the article seems okay, though someone might want to rework the "Products" portion on the sidebar. It seems to list mainly interface and controller types, and not actual products that this company makes.Ausernamenobodyhas (talk) 04:54, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Proposed merge with SimpleTech
[edit]These two companies were one for much of their history. There is very little to be said about them after they split in 2000. The subject is better suited to a merged article. One branch was sold to Fabrik Inc. which was sold to Hitachi. The other sTec, Inc. was publicly-traded until it was acquired by HGST, a Western Digital company. --- Coffeeandcrumbs 22:25, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

First to market SDRAM modules in 1999?
[edit]The article states "In 1999, sTec was first to market the 1 GB solid-state IDE storage devices, SDRAM modules and also 320 MB Type II CompactFlash." SDRAM modules were already in widespread use in PCs by 1997, so that statement is either wrong or the sentence is badly formulated if it's meant to say that STec, Inc. were the first to market 1 GB SDRAM modules. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Armorgeddon (talk • contribs) 12:04, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
