[edit]Isn't there a rule about people making wikipedia entries about themselves? Ashmoo 04:26, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure he didn't. Just someone who was a fan of his books. Almafeta 00:29, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
Criticism
[edit]If we're going to have a quote lauding SJR, should we also have a criticism section listing quotes from the many people who think he's rude, mean, paranoid, dishonest, and would never deal with him again?
See the GURPS mailing list for references for all of this, as well as many other gaming forums.
As I'm sure we aren't going to turn this into a flame session, is it appropriate to keep the positive quote? It implies that people are saying only nice things about him which seems ... incomplete, and thus unreasonably biased. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.82.203.201 (talk) 21:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- These pages might be useful for putting together a Criticism section:

- http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?p=10496 (Where SJR himself mentions the Flameout.)

Userfying
[edit]I have a good source for S. John Ross. After a request to the closing admin, the article has been restored and userfied. I will be able to add some sourced content to this article later today. BOZ (talk) 20:52, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
Game designer and writer
[edit]I made this S. John Ross (game designer), but it could have been S. John Ross (writer). If a wise hand thinks it should be changed, please change it. Alden Loveshade (talk) 02:17, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Note that if it is changed, links to S. John Ross (game designer) will also need to be changed to S. John Ross (writer). Alden Loveshade (talk) 02:35, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
I didn't mean to step on anybody's toes
[edit]I just put up the article S. John Ross (game designer). Then I saw this in drafts. I didn't intend to overstep anyone's work; I didn't know this was here until after I posted the article. Sorry about that. Feel free to edit the article as you see fit. I had debated about making it (gaming designer) or (writer). If you change it, you'll want to check the links I put in other articles to S. John Ross (game designer). Alden Loveshade (talk) 02:53, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- I am merging the prior version of this page into the one you wrote. Since it is substantially different from the version that was previously deleted at AFD, I do not believe there is any need for any additional formality. BOZ (talk) 05:56, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Tone of article and notability of sources
[edit]This article seems unusually hagiographic and seems like a promotional website. A lot of the source fail the reliability or notability test and almost all of it is primary sources either from the subject of the article, or repetitions of claims made by the subject. I'm going to start getting it to conform to wikipedia standards. Remember, this is an encyclopedia. Please discuss here if you have any problems with my edits. Ashmoo (talk) 15:57, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
I also chopped these from the Career section because both are dead links and I could not manage to find the information. [1][2] Ashmoo (talk) 16:13, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
