Grabbing this for a review. I think it's already in very good shape - that Peer review certainly helped a great deal. Here's my comments:

  • Images are fine and fit the context of the article. My only comment would be that the formatting on the multiple image template under Chasing the dream is odd - I'd simply change "header" to "footer" in the template and then it'll match the formatting of the other images.
  • Is it worth piping a link to Primeira Divisão where you say "champions of Portugal" in the lead?
  • Link 1965–66 European Cup in the last part of the lead (unless you've linked it elsewhere in the lead, but I couldn't see it).
  • Add "of Luxembourg" after Stade Dudelange as well - there's no need to do something for Sevilla as they're better known, but I had no idea what country Dudelange were from.
  • Background: It doesn't talk about the "political reasons" mentioned in the lead.
  • "Benfica's first European silverware came in 1950 when led by Ted Smith" - I'd changed that to "managed by" or "coached by" as otherwise it could be read that Smith was the captain of the team.
  • I'd swap out "Merengues" with "the Spanish champions" if you're looking for another way to refer to Real Madrid - I wasn't aware of their nickname and thought initially you were referring to Benfica.
  • "where it stood among the top contenders" change "it" to "they" since you're talking about Southern European teams in general rather than specifically Benfica.
  • Firstly, I like the layouts with the tables within the sections - however, I think it'd be better if the tables were within subsections within those sections (the same way as each table has a subsection in the Records part of the article).
  • I wasn't sure about "Chasing the dream" as a section heading. While I liked the poetry of it, I wasn't sure that it was specific enough. But I've had a brainwave, which gave me an idea for a compromise. So I would suggest changing the section titles to "European champions and Guttmann's curse (1950-79)", "Chasing the dream (1980-99)" and "Recent years (2000-present)". That way it can be kept, but it's obvious to the reader what the section is referring to within the context of the article.
  • The Independent and the Daily Mail need to be in italics. I'd remove the Metro.co.uk listing and just call it Metro instead, placing that in italics as it's a print newspaper.
  • Cite #62 is unformatted
  • Cite #69 has different formatting for UEFA - both listing it as UEFA.com instead of simply UEFA and incorrectly placing it in italics.
  • Footballzz seems to have been rebranded - I get a differently named website load when I click through the cites. Secondly, what makes this source reliable?
    • @Miyagawa: I think I've addressed everything you said. About the finalball, It was used in here and deemed reliable, so I've being used elsewhere also. I wanted to ask the reviewer about the image in the infobox at the lead. When I did this article from scratch in May 2015, I wanted a photo for the intro, the obvious choice was showing the two European cups, but since no one had visited the club museum yet, I selected the second best choice, the topscorer. I've since visited the museum and took the photo I needed and was considering put Eusébio with the records at the bottom and changing the infobox picture to either this or this, what's your feedback?--Threeohsix (talk) 12:10, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • @Threeohsix: Thanks for coming back so quickly. I think swapping the lead image for the cups is a good idea. Personally, I'd see if you could crop around the two cup image as you've got a trophy cut in half by the end on the left (but you'd need to do a tight crop on the right as well otherwise it'll be lop sided). Like you say, Eusébio can be placed with the records towards the bottom. Miyagawa (talk) 13:22, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
