International flights

[edit]

Unless the local government and media are lying to me, there are currently no international flights for São Pedro Airport. They were planned for this summer, but got pushed back to "by the end of the year". Thus I removed the listing of flights to Funchal and Lisbon. Someone put them back in though. Is there any reason to list as a "destination" a place where there are no flights to or from? Or should I just keep reverting. I don't want to get into an edit war. (If you doubt me, and can read Portuguese, here's an article.) --Tanketz (talk) 20:42, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More info in Portuguese: [1]. They say that the certification of the airport for international flights is supposed to end Dec. 5, and that they found no sign any airline, national or foreign, intends on starting international flights before the end of the year. Note that TAP Portugal is intending to do flights to Lisbon in the future. I can certainly see where someone could have become confused in the past and made to think there must be international flights at São Pedro already, but as far as I can see it's simply not true. --Tanketz (talk) 16:57, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
