[edit]Ryan Mac Donald started Body Image in 2006.
Wrong Ryan McDonald?
[edit]The character who plays Brendan is a young man, and the links here are to a much older performer.205.194.127.36 (talk) 16:22, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Ryan McDonald → Ryan Mcdonald – Name capitalization correction. RUNRVS (talk) 06:19, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
- Based on what? Sole reference in article is ImDB which uses Ryan McDonald --ClubOranjeT 11:15, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
- IMDB is incorrect as well unfortunately. Source is a conversation with myself and Ryan.--RUNRVS (talk) 16:58, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
- That conversation is not a reliable source. – ukexpat (talk) 19:19, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
- Please forgive my confusion - this is my first time making a edit of a wiki page. If not the person whose name is in question - then what would be then a reliable source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RUNRVS (talk • contribs) 23:35, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
- No. I can't find a single reference on the internet to the actor Ryan McDonald with the lower case d. Every single reference on google news capitalises the D. This story sounds very dubious, given that actors have agents and so on to sort this stuff out. I'm going to change back the page until we get some kind of reliable source. RUNRVS, if your story is true, Ryan McDonald needs to tell other people (Journalists, imdb, etc.) before Wikipedia can change.VsevolodKrolikov (talk) 03:08, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- Mis-hit return on my edit summary. Meant to finish: ...can't find any evidence that his name is spelt with a small d.VsevolodKrolikov (talk) 03:13, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- Update : I informed him and he's submitted the change to ImDB. It can take a two weeks for a editor there to approve the change - so I guess we'll address the issue once the change is made there to appease the rules. Thanks! --RUNRVS (talk) 06:16, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'll re-emphasise the point I made above: I can find not one single reference to Ryan McDonald spelling his surname Mcdonald. (Imdb isn't actually considered a good reliable source and so wouldn't be enough on its own. See Wikipedia:RS/IMDB#IMDb and various RSN discussions.) I think this request is a hoax. this Columbia/Sony press release spells it McDonald, as do all press reports. If it isn't a hoax, Mr Mcdonald should fire his agent as s/he is obviously a bit useless. Suggest a speedy close, as no evidence has been presented.VsevolodKrolikov (talk) 06:40, 28 September 2011 (UTC) A case sensitive search] produces only mirrors of wikipedia. - I now understand that the general consensus, as you've shown here - that on the internet it does have the capital D. But those sources are user or wikibot generated mistakes stemming from the original mistake on his ImDB - of which he's had not had access or bothered to attempt to seek correction until now (and pending). So in the search of clarity in a grande scheme - what does, if ever - can clarify his ones true name? Please bare with me, I know I might be going out of depths of a simple wiki edit - I am new to this. But guidelines are that it needs to be a 3rd party source, right? Well, wouldn't there now always be a larger source of incorrect attributions that had been gathering from the source on ImDB incorrectly out there? By making the source needing to be a 3rd party - he can't even tell people what his own name is? Is a person simply now whatever the google thinks it is? Its a perplexing issue. (Also I'm amused by the claim of this being a hoax, to what end would that benefit "me"? I'm simply correcting a long mistake for a friend)--RUNRVS (talk) 17:03, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- Update: ImDB now reflects his proper name.--RUNRVS (talk) 01:25, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- Considering that site is user submitted anyone could have changed it. Mcdonald may very well be correct but I don't think that will cut it.--70.24.211.105 (talk) 17:48, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

As per this, I've removed reference to "Mcdonald" in the text. We simply haven't been given any credible evidence whatsoever. It's too implausible that every single production company he's worked for has spelt his name wrong.VsevolodKrolikov (talk) 14:17, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
