So much work, so little purpose

[edit]

So much to say. This page is diveded into story arcs, (like it says in the title), to make editing and documentation easier, the group is named the Runaways, as they have no other name and to repeatilly call them "the group" or "runaways" is confusing. JQF 16:18, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I like the story arcs on a new Article, editing and documentation is easier and more better. Runaways is a ongoing series not a mimi-seres so the Plot summary on the Team article wood go on and on and the Runaways (comics) (story arcs) is EZ to read and keep up !--Brown Shoes22 16:26, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I understand you might think it is more better, but it's not encyclopedic, and it infringes upon fair use. It's just too lengthy and descriptive. What i cut it down to can be condensed even more, and may be once more editors start paying attention to this. --Chris Griswold 16:33, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I reverted this article to Chris' redirect and linked to the discussion on WP:COMICS and WP:FU in the edit summary. --Newt ΨΦ 16:38, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD

[edit]

I'm going to go ahead and recommend this article for deletion. Too much plot summary is not fair use and should be avoided. If it were significantly reduced so that it was fair use it could be merged with Runaways (comics). Please see WP:Manual of Style (writing about fiction), WP:FU, and the discussion of this article on WP:COMICS. --Newt ΨΦ 17:52, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Runaways.jpg

[edit]

Image:Runaways.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Volume Three

[edit]

Marvel solicitations have Runaways resuming numbering back at one in August, this means a third volume. Rau's Speak Page 23:52, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger

[edit]

Is it worth having a separate article for story arcs in Runaways? This article is lengthy, in-universe and unencyclopedic. Someone who knows the comics well could easily merge this into the plot summary section of the main Runaways article, which would be much tidier. This depth of plot detail is superfluous and messy. If there are no main objections, I'll propose a merger. -- Escape Artist Swyer Talk to me Articles touched by my noodly appendage 20:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm all for a merge. And there is a nice little plot section on the main article. Isn't that enough? Rau's Speak Page 20:39, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

The image File:Loners.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
