Before getting excited about references this article is largely referenced against a book (title=From Western China to the Golden Gate: The Experiences of an American University Graduate in the Orient, With Thirty Illustrations), and an article (The Most Remarkable Monument in Western China, printed in The Popular Science Monthly- Issue December 1913) both by Roger Sprague. The other sources given (but not relied on) were user informed. There is little on the web in English, about this obscure subject. The Temple shown in the photo (titled "A Temple in Yong-hien, the city below the Great Buddha in 1910. Notice the two chimneys in the foreground.") May still stand? The Temple would possibly have been in the town; out of sight of the Budhha... --BeckenhamBear (talk) 11:39, 30 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
