Just took a look at this article. Although its about the Tyne turbo-prop, the attached image shows a turbojet.192.197.178.2 20:31, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- The engine in the picture is a Tyne - the engine is pictured from the rear looking at the jet pipe. The propeller-end is farthest from the camera and this particular sectioned engine doesn't have a propeller fitted, unlike the Dart shown in the background. Ian Dunster 11:11, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
Turbine configuration clarification
[edit]The details about the engine turbine configuration in this article is slightly miss-leading. Immediately after mentioning the marine version, the article states that the LP turbine drives both the LP compressor and propeller. This is correct for the aero version but the marine variant has separate turbines, a single stage unit for driving the LP compressor and a two stage free power turbine with a hot-end drive for the drive to the ships propeller shaft (via reduction gearboxes).
