[edit]The ancestry tree looks horrible, why is it not in regular form? Marmaduke Constable has the same issue! -- Lady Meg (talk) 00:13, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
The ancestry chart shows Agnes Gascoigne to be the daughter of William Gascoigne (1350-1419, Chief Justice of the King's Bench) and Elizabeth de Mowbray. This contradicts Wikipedia's own entry on William Gascoigne, which says Agnes was the daughter of his other, probably second, wife Joan Pickering. Multiple citations in the Gascoigne article lead to archived posts from soc.medieval.genealogy referring to Joan Pickering's will, which evidently claims Agnes as her own daughter. I don't have an actual citation for the text of the will and I don't have a sense of whether citing the secondary references will arouse the ire of other Wikipedians, but I point out the discrepancy for the examination of those more competent than me. Sir Marmaduke Constable of Flamborough(c.1379-1404)For further back see the Ancestry of Roger FitzJohn (aka Roger de Lacy) (elder brother of (*) Robert FitzJohn (or le Constable) of Flamborough (-c.1216)) Greatx6-grandson of John Fitz[i] Richard of Flamborough (c.1130-1190[ii]), 6th Constable of Chester & Alice Filia[iii] Roger (daughter of Roger Fitz[i] Richard and Alice (Adeliza) de Vere) Greatx5-grandson of (*) Robert Fitz[i] John (or le Constable) of Flamborough (-c.1216) & Eufemia Tison (daughter of William Tison & Eufemia, and granddaughter of Adam Tison of Holme-on-Spaldingmore) Greatx4-grandson of Sir William le Constable of Flamborough (bef.1208-bef.1267[iv]) & Juliana Deyvil [de Daiville] Greatx3-grandson of Sir Robert le Constable of Flamborough (-c.1272) & Lady Agnes[v] Instead of 4 generations some genealogies only have 2 generations between Robert FitzJohn (or le Constable) (-c.1216) and Sir Marmaduke le Constable (-1378). Instead of having Robert-William-Robert-William-Robert-Marmaduke they only have Robert-William-Robert-Marmaduke.[vi] Greatx2-grandson of Sir William le Constable of Flamborough (-c.1319)[vii] Great-grandson of Sir Robert le Constable of Flamborough (-aft.1339[viii]) & Katherine Grandson of Sir Marmaduke le Constable of Flamborough (-1378[ix]) [married twice] & Joan or Elizabeth Some genealogies claim that a Sir William Constable belongs here.[x] This is incorrect. The will of Sir Marmaduke le Constable (-1378) states that his son and heir was Sir Robert Constable (c.1353-1401). An extra generation does not fit here.[original research?] Son of Sir Robert Constable of Flamborough (c.1353-1401[xi]) & Margaret Skipwith (daughter of Sir William Skipwith of Ormesby, Lincolnshire & Alice Hiltoft)
24. for further back than Sir Humphrey Stafford see Lundy, Darryl. "p. 21324 § 213240 Sir Humphrey Stafford". The Peerage.
