Step-daughter?
[edit]This post says that Best had a step-daughter, but there's no mention of a second wife. The article linked in the reference after the line about the step-daughter does not mention a step-daughter or a second wife.
I googled around some and did find that he was divorced from his first wife in 1966, but there is no mention of a second wife or any other reference to a step-daughter.

Requesting a correction to the statement about why all aircraft were diving on the Akagi and Wade McClusky's knowledge of the dive bombing doctrine
[edit]From Wade McClusky's wiki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C._Wade_McClusky):
"The confused attack order was later explained as a radio error due to multiple people speaking at the same time. McClusky, having been a fighter pilot prior to becoming Air Group Commander and was very familiar with dive bombing doctrine, as was Best. McClusky's decision to lead his squadron in attacking the closer Kaga was in keeping with doctrine that stated it was the commander on the scene that could make the decision as to what target to bomb." — Preceding unsigned comment added by NotBond007 (talk • contribs) 00:35, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
