Candidate List
[edit]Is a list of all candidates standing for election WP:UNDUE for this article? I believe it likely is as few are notable in their own right. Mdann52 (talk) 14:29, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
- Ping Cavrdg as the editor who has most recently edited the section. For reference, I've recently removed similar content from similar articles for similar reasons, happy to change to a single line with the number of candidates and a ref in to an external source listing all candidates, but seems rather spurious in an encyclopaedic article! - I added those refs because, over on 2024 United Kingdom general election, a mention had been made of Rejoin EU fielding 26 candidates and it had been reverted as unreferenced. It's probably good to have the SoPNs archived for future reference but I see the BBC has a page listing all the constituencies with links giving the candidates which is better as a secondary source. A full list of candidates is probably a bit OTT but how else can we reference the number? Cavrdg (talk) 20:08, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
- There's a primary source here to back up that claim, and this source also supports the 26 claim (and was the one I had in mind to use instead] (I know it's a blog, but these are the same org that collate this data, so it probably is ok in this case). Mdann52 (talk) 04:34, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
