History
[edit]Do you know when and where first refereshment room was opened? It is said that it was Grand Junction Railway's temporary Vauxhall, maybe 1837, although the earlier example would be Gart- sherrie Inn, from 1832.[1] OccultZone (Talk • Contributions • Log) 05:01, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- As you can tell by the nature of this article, my access to RS on the matter is limited. As an example, I cannot open that link. I would appreciate if you could contribute, if you have more information. I know that railway refreshment rooms have a long and illustrious history in Britain and the Commonwealth. It seemed odd that we had no page on the subject. RGloucester — ☎ 13:34, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, whenever I see any chances of disagreement, I just use the talk page first. Since you had recently created and I came here through Special:NewPagesFeed, I was myself amazed that there was no article about this very common subject until today.
