Which source do you need to complete this page ? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Execom rt (talkcontribs) 00:52, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[Edit] Added electronic article from IGN and reference from a printed book regarding realtech VR. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Execom rt (talkcontribs) 01:03, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(copied from my own talkpage) Hi Execom rt. Whilst your efforts are appreciated, I'm afraid none of these suffice to pass either WP:GNG or WP:WEB. Realtech's own website is not an independent source, so, whilst it can be used sparingly to verify information (which is how you've used it), it doesn't contribute to proving notability. The IGN article is a good source for No Gravity, but says virtually nothing about Realtech - again, it's great for verifibility, but the coverage is a passing mention and so doesn't demonstrate notability. Slashdot is not usually regarded as a reliable source due to its user-generated content; this again means it can't be used to pass the notability guidelines. The book I'm not sure about - I can't access the sample content on my computer, but although it looks like a reliable source (Addison Wesley are pretty mainstream) I suspect, based on what you're referencing, that it only contains another passing mention claiming that Realtech publish the Open GL Extensions Viewer, rather than covering the company in detail. If I'm wrong (you have the book, after all!), please feel free to disregard. As it stands, though, there still isn't anything here that would convince me to keep the article. (answer) Thanks for evaluating the article and challenging the relevance of the references used. I've changed the article with following changes:

  • Added the company listing reference page from IMDb which is reliable source.
  • Added two interviews from mainstream websites between editor-in-chief of IGN and OSNews and realtech VR, talking about realtech VR game company (removing user generated article from Slashdot).
  • Added more external links helping to verify the sources.

As far, we added more references than existing game companies listed on Wikipedia(example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3G_Studios). I can continue to research more information, however I've added a 'expert-subject' template, in order to order a third party expert for more validation. 18:29, 31 January 2012 (GMT-5) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Execom rt (talkcontribs)

Hi Excom. Once again, your efforts are appreciated, and I'm really not trying to nitpick, but there's still nothing here that passes the criteria at WP:GNG or WP:ORG. IMDb is specifically listed by name in the reliable sources guideline as one to avoid, since its content is user-generated. The interviews contain lots of information about No Gravity, but say virtually nothing about Realtech the company, and are not independent of the subject (being interviews with Realtech staff) as required by WP:GNG. The Playstation Lifestyle release is about No Gravity again, rather than Realtech, and the Poeut listing is - well, I have no idea what it is, frankly, but it certainly doesn't contain any information about Realtech beyond what seems to be a list of products - what's needed is in-depth coverage (again, per WP:GNG.
I've had a hunt for sources myself and come up with a number of sources in French and German. I don't speak much French, and I don't speak German at all, so I'm not really qualified to evaluate them. On a cursory reading with my limited knowledge, however, all those I've checked seem to be in a similar vein to what's already in the article - press release material or reviews of their products.
It's quite possible that Realtech VR simply isn't a notable company by Wikipedia standards - many companies exist that fail the notability criteria. However, it does seem apparent that No Gravity could pass the bar for notability; there seem to be a good collection of reviews and articles about it. It might be sensible to focus your efforts on writing an article on the game itself, rather than the parent company (use the title NoGravity (video game), since No Gravity already exists as a disambiguation page). I will leave the tags in place on this article for another week or so to give you an opportunity to locate sources (I figure your username indicates you may have a connection with the company, so you may have access to more materials than I do - also, if that's the case, you should probably read WP:COI); after that I will probably take it to AFD for discussion. Thanks, I'm starting the page. Would it be possible to change this article to a redirection to the NoGravity (video game) article then ? Execom rt (talkcontribs) 07:56, 1 February 2012 (GMT-5) ?

I think a merge with redirect would probably be the most sensible option. If you'd like me to do that for you, let me know on my talkpage when the No Gravity article is ready. Cheers, Yunshui  13:01, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
