[edit]I do not think that brazillian footballers is a relevant category. in any case they should be put in the "people" class.

Important Name
[edit]I found that one of the most famous people named "Raphael" in history, Rafael Trujillo, was not included on this this. His name has been added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.64.53.95 (talk) 01:06, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Rafael Pereira da Silva
[edit]The person Rafael Pereira da Silva (footballer born 1990), belongs in the article "Raphael (given name)" (in this section), which lists people who have Rafael as their name. You've claimed that Rafael Pereira da Silva is commonly referred to as "Rafael". Guess what? so are every single other person in this section. —MelbourneStar☆talk 23:17, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
- Like some other Brazilian footballers (e.g. Pele, Ronaldo) Rafael Pereira da Silva is commonly known by a single name. His WP:COMMONNAME is Rafael. This is different from the other people on the Rafael (given name) page. When I added him to this page there was no indication of his COMMONNAME. How can we make it more clear that his COMMONNAME is Rafael?--SaskatchewanSenator (talk) 08:14, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- Per COMMONNAME, there must be reliable sources that mention this name - there are; However, they also go on to include his surname too. So how do we distinguish between what is his common name - Rafael or Rafael da Silva, I don't actually know. Because, everyone has a first name and a surname, and everyone is likely to be referred to by their first name more than their surname name... so how do we find out which is common?
- Are there any sources that explicitly say that he is commonly referred to as Rafael? —MelbourneStar☆talk 08:30, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- Many sources don't mention his surname and use only Rafael. Reliable sources wouldn't do that if he wasn't commonly known by his given name only. I can't point you to a source that explicitly says that he is referred to as Rafael, but I think squad lists like this [1] make it pretty clear that he is known by Rafael.--SaskatchewanSenator (talk) 19:42, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- So we agree he should be back on this page?--SaskatchewanSenator (talk) 16:50, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Apologies for the belated reply! I'm still somewhat hesitant, but it'll be fine if I self-revert, to your revision, as your arguments do sound convincing. —MelbourneStar☆talk 23:05, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

The Page Rafael which is a dab page right now received [3] 4329 page views.
So Dassault Rafale is clearly the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for Rafael at the moment and accordingly i will be making the moves.

I am making these bold moves, assuming no oppose, if there are feel free to discuss below. --DBigXrayᗙ 22:25, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
- I do not agree with the moving. Rafael is also a name Rafael (given name), a village Rafael, California, a footballer player Rafael (footballer, born 1990) and so on. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 09:03, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

- Support this move
or moving Rafael (given name) to the base title. Not sure which is the better option right now.Iffy★Chat -- 10:20, 25 February 2019 (UTC)- Way too many Rafael's for there to be a primary topic, my head goes straight to Rafael Nadal but it's a common first name. Iffy★Chat -- 19:38, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support redirecting all variations to Raphael (given name). The word is instantly recognizable as a popular given name with some trivial spelling variations, first and foremost. bd2412 T 14:05, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nom, I don't see how this can be regarded as a primary redirect to the fighter jet. No objection to retargeting this elsewhere instead, but that's beyond the scope of WP:RM. PC78 (talk) 16:28, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nom - no primary topic. Oppose the name being moved to the basename. Paintspot Infez (talk) 16:30, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support Since Rafael (footballer, born 1990) comes up first on Google, the aircraft isn't a full match and Google tends to return PTMs more than we shoudl. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:58, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
