Grad Students Uncover Progressive Jackpot Probability Patterns!
[edit]I'd just like to second the reversion by 71.16.178.222 of the http://www.jackpotalarms.com site. I'd hope that most here would realise that unless there is something seriously wrong with the random number generator used, predicting anything about jackpots is pure crackpot. --Mike Van Emmerik 23:04, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
I was just noticing the linked jackpot alarms site, noticing that the claims there seem ludicrous. It discusses "grad student" work without citation, and has payoff numbers on the site that move in real time but appear to be generated by random numbers in javascript upon viewing source. I came to the discussion page before taking jackpotalarms off. I'm taking it off. If it was simply a list of online progressive jackpots that'd be one thing, but it's explicitly claiming to be something that it clearly is not. 19 July 2006 UTC
- There are tons of problems with Pseudorandom number generators, but that's probably a topic too advanced for wikipedia. 75.0.8.12 (talk) 20:59, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
Progressive Blackjack
[edit]The article states "The side bet wins if the player is dealt one of several specific card combinations such as four suited aces." What is meant by "four suited aces"? Are multiple desks of cards being used? Or should this just be "four aces"? My Other Brother Darryl (talk) 22:06, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
Is it okay if I update this page?
[edit]Good evening, I'm new to Wikipedia and I would to make changes on iGaming articles - specifically online casino and gambling articles. In this case, for example, I believe there's so much information that's not been included.
For example; 1. The different types of progressive jackpots. There are local, stand alone and wide area jackpots 2. Myths regarding jackpot slots. I'd like to clarify that winning jackpots is totally random or requires one to land a required set of symbols 3. I'd also like to include some of the popular jackpot slots online (which have been listed in the Guinness Book of Records). These include Mega Moolah and Mega Fortune Dreams.
Generally, I'd like to improve this article significantly to help readers find useful information regarding jackpot. If it's okay I can make the changes in line with the Wikipedia rules and regulations. Elishama Kaunda (talk) 22:28, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
