Cut a phrase from previous edit

Maybe later I'll find this review and put it to the text:

In addition to animal models, PPI has also been explored in humans, supporting the validity of these procedures in studying schizophrenia (for review, see Braff et al. 2002).

What is necessary to improve this article

[edit]
  • More information on PPI disruption in numerous diseases;
  • An outline of brain circuitry underlying the startle response and its inhibition and computer models of such circuits;
  • More images: screenshots of registering software, printouts, photos of people tested, mice tested, other species tested;
  • Examples of startle sounds also could be added;
  • Would be great if the article was reviewed by a specialist of the field, for example, Neal Swerdlow;
  • Table of influence of different chemical compounds on PPI in different species, with different reactions across species highlighted;

PPI and antipsychotics

[edit]

There are no references supporting that antipsychotics improves PPI in schizophrenic. As far as I can see Swerdlow 2007 does not have information about this. Also references would be needed for schizophrenics that never have been recieving antipsychotics since the impaired PPI may be a temporary condition (like in panic disorder) or an impairment from antipsychotics. --Nopedia (talk) 02:07, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
