Poland C
[edit]And what does "Poland C" refer to in the Gazeta Wyborcza reference? Double sharp (talk) 13:08, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
- @Double sharp: The article is online free, but it is true some sources distinguish a third category (ex. [1]). I'd have to dig deeper; it may be a reference to the three partitions - Prussian one was the richest (A), whereas Austrian and Russian were poorer (B); if they are divided, we get B and C. The cited [2] source does not talk about partitions, but about level of industrialization, with B being low-industrial south-south-east and C being mostly agricultural north-east and east. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:40, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
"Historical"
[edit]Do these terms refer only to post-WWII Poland? That should be clarified in the article. 216.8.175.138 (talk) 17:42, 21 May g2014 (UTC)
- The same terms were used in Poland during the Interwar years (see e.g. Norman Davies, God's Playground, A History of Poland, vol. II). Of course, Poland "A" was smaller then and Poland "B" was larger, since fewer parts of former Prussian territory was included in the Interwar republic (primarily Wielkopolska and West Prussia). 93.184.194.104 (talk) 22:40, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
It's actually a myth
[edit]Historically it is actually a myth, the Russian Partition in Congress Poland had more industry for example than Greater Poland under Prussian Partition.MyMoloboaccount (talk) 23:00, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
- This is modern concept. Back in the partitions, it was different. But in modern politics A and B fill a role. MozeTak (talk) 06:08, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
