[edit]Technical point Cramer named many species but did little to organis (classify) them. Notafly
- We who have to put names on butterflies still use Cramer's 1770s publications. We should push for somebody or some organization to digitalize the entire work and "put" it on the internet. It is our collective heritage. Luckily, the museum where I work has a full original copy. --Wloveral (talk) 17:15, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- A fully illustrated online version of the original publication is something that is long past due! I have seen a few parts of it, but can't research anymore of it without travelling halfway across the world. HaarFager (talk) 13:18, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm wondering if this line in the first paragraph doesn't need correcting: "....his book on outlandish butterflies." Doesn't the word "outlandish" seem innappropriate here? HaarFager (talk) 05:15, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- I hope I solved your problem with the text.Taksen (talk) 11:27, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- "Exotic" works well and explains the context of the usage of "outlandish" quite well. Thanks! HaarFager (talk) 13:18, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
