Notability
[edit]This article needs to cite outside sources to meet the requirements of WP:Notability. I understand that the poet is one of the most famous, but every poem by every famous author is not necessarily deserving of an article unless it is covered by several critics who can give enough information to write a verifiable article. This topic, in my opinion, does deserve an article, but until the sources are given, none of the text in the article meets wiki standards, and the article might be subject to PROD or a deletion discussion. - There's a lot of stuff that could be used for establishing notability at Google Books. I'm sure there have been articles in academic journals, too. This is one of the more frequently anthologized English poems; I had to read it several times in school.
- If you're still concerned about notability, bring the article to AFD, and see what others think. Don't prod it; it's best to have a community discussion on these kinds of topics. Zagalejo^^^ 20:12, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- I am not arguing that the poem is not notable; i think it most definitely is; its the claim to notability using sources that i was worried about. I perhaps could have said that better. This is a horribly notable poem, it just needs a lot of outside sources to meet notability standards:) Mrathel (talk) 01:50, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
