Merge discussion

[edit]

The photo booth rental article seems short enough, and has some duplicated content, that it could reasonable be merged into this photo booth article. The topics are so closely related that it doesn't really make sense to have them split out into two separate articles. ~Amatulić (talk) 01:38, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Make up your mind.

[edit]

"In the United States, photo booths are purely used for entertainment[citation needed], and as a result the US is a very small market for photo booth operators when compared to western Europe and eastern Asia. Indeed there are three or four times as many photo booths in the UK alone than there are in the whole of America[citation needed] where they are typically installed indoors in places for entertainment, such as video arcades and amusement parks. In some US cities, photo booths may also be found in train stations and other transportation hubs, as a means of obtaining a photograph needed for inclusion in a transit pass."Kanjo Kotr (talk) 12:04, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That is a very interesting take on photo booths and the different uses in the UK. 67.251.153.58 (talk) 15:09, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Major Revisions Required

[edit]

Outdated - No information about the latest development such as animated GIF etc which is very popular in western countries.

Low Quality - Generally an unacceptably low quality wiki page.

Overly focussed on Japanese Sticker Photo Booth - Almost over 50% of the page is dedicated to Japanese sticker photo booth which is not popular outside East Asia. And its popularity has declined significantly in recent years, due to the rising popularity of smartphones.

History section is too long - Whilst history is important to the Photo Booth page, however it is too long. It already has a good reference [1], so readers can reference if they want. Technodudes (talk) 01:32, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ipad kiosks become predominant in the photo booth industry.

[edit]

The photo booth industry is seeing a shift in the style and size of equipment as well as the experience provided to patrons. Ipad based kiosks are becoming more predominant and provide a digital only experience to patrons. It is often paired with augmented reality pose props similar to snapchat filters. The 2019 Photo Booth Expo showcased many ipad based kiosk products for the photo booth market. Major software makers such as Breeze Systems and Snappic have released ipad solutions for photo booth companies[1]

Suggested new article for purikura

[edit]

This photo booth article has numerous mentions of Purikura and would benefit from being more concise. Currently there is mention of Purikura under 'History', 'Types of photo booths' and in the 'Cultural significance of photo booth' section. I understand that Purikura can be applied to all these headings, however this is diverging from a broader topic about photo booths. A new article should be created for Purikura, that incorporates its history and relevance to society. If approved, then there can be a links to this article within the photo booth article.

Update as of 28/3/20, The article was not accepted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ben Stone (talkcontribs) 13:43, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft for new article: Draft:Purikura.

Add, edit or change anything related to Purikura here.

The photo booth expo in Las Vegas in February is the biggest photo booth event in the US. They also have a photo booth expo in London in June. I am a photo booth owner in NYC www.nyfpb.com and make great attempts to attend each year. There was a strong display and education this year on the emergence of glam bots. 67.251.153.58 (talk) 15:16, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If the photo booth takes the picture/photo snapshot, is the resulting image public domain? A human author didnt take the picture a computer did so I would argue its not copyright protected. Slinkyw (talk) 13:03, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"add to Types of photo booths"

360 Photo Booth 360 photo booths typically consist of a camera setup that captures images in a 360-degree field of view. Users stand in the centre of the booth, and the camera rotates or captures images simultaneously from multiple angles to create a seamless panoramic photo. These booths often utilise specialised software to stitch together the images and create a final, interactive product.[1] Hannahm098 (talk) 12:57, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
