Copied
[edit]Much of the text of this article has been taken, part and parcel, from Phil Mendelson's official D.C. Council web biography page, right down to the "adorable" daughter line that has come in for criticism in the edit history. In addition to being copied (rather a violation of Wiki-policy and probably the law as well), it's out of date, as (for example), Mendelson's divorce has been announced. I don't have time to make all the needed changes now. Can anybody help?

- Yeah, that's been a problem for a while. It looks like one of Mendelson's staff added that in this edit (JShedlock is presumably his aide Jason Shedlock). So I don't think it's a copyright violation, but obviously it is out of date and unencyclopedic. —KCinDC (talk) 14:28, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
Added information from a June 2008 Washingtonian magazine article about DC crime that was rather critical of some of Mendelson's actions as chair of the District Council's Judiciary Committee. Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 16:01, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Actually chairman?
[edit]Should Phil Mendelson be listed as chairman, or just acting chairman? He is still an at-large member and will return to that position in November (unless he runs in the special election and wins), so I'd say acting. If it's decided that the acting chairman is actually chairman, then articles and links for Linda Cropp and John L. Ray would need to be changed, since both of them were in exactly the same position. Cropp definitely became chairman later anyway, since she won the special election, but currently Ray is not listed as a chairman at all and would have to be added to the chain of chairmen between John A. Wilson and David A. Clarke. —KCinDC (talk) 02:56, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
