Petjo, Petjok, Pecok: please choose one spelling for the article text
[edit]I would welcome a more systematic approach to the spelling, throughout the article, of the name of the language. I have at least seen Petjo, Petjok and Peco. Yes, I noticed the first line of the article, but I would prefer the authors would stick to one choice of spelling throughout the remainder of the article.Redav (talk) 12:19, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
Dutch “zinsmelodie” in English text?
[edit]The current article text contains the Dutch word “zinsmelodie (rhythm)”. I propose replacing that with “prosody”.Redav (talk) 12:27, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
Pecok blends or Dutch pronunciation variation?
[edit]The current article text contains:
Dutch | Petjo | Examples |
---|---|---|
- | d/t | er in [d’rin] (in it); is er [ister] (is there) |
The pronunciations for Dutch “erin” (the spelling “er in” may be in error) and “is er” indicated by “d’rin” and “ister”, respectively, occur in Dutch rather often. They may well be related to a more full version “daar” for “er”, and thus to the Dutch words “daarin” and “is daar”, of which they might be contractions.
At any rate, I doubt that the row in the table concerning these forms mirrors Pecok adaptations of Dutch word sequences. I rather suspect they are Dutch adaptations or contractions which were copied in Pecok.
I am a native Dutch speaker, but not knowledgeable with respect to Pecok, so I cannot now decide whether the table row discussed here should be removed.Redav (talk) 12:43, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
