[edit]I have edited the section on the "crossroads" myth to acknowledge the user comment that Robert Johnson never made the claim himself. C i d (UTC) 14:29, 28 Dec 2005
That paragraph still needs work; the most recent edit ("We still don't know...") is unencyclopedic. I'll try to reword this. --RobHutten 20:42, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
I have been slowly re-writing with references. I haven't yet deleted much, so there is some duplication and some conflict.DavidCrosbie (talk) 00:48, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
I have now deleted much of the 'Life and early career' section and all of the 'Folklore' section -- substituting a 'Persona' section. If no-one objects, I plan to rewrite the sections on his recording style and influence.DavidCrosbie (talk) 17:26, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Altered erroneous last sentence. There is no evidence whatsoever to link Peetie with the modern Crossroads myth. And his death was extensivly reported, both locally and nationally.DavidCrosbie (talk) 17:57, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
I have now made a substantial start on Section 3, which I have renamed 'Style'. I plan to complete it with discussion of his recordings and then delete more existing material.DavidCrosbie (talk) 19:53, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Looking at previous edits, I see that two major references were included in the past, but then erased -- presumably by error.DavidCrosbie (talk) 19:53, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Deleted paragraph
[edit]I deleted the following paragraph from the section "Influence", on grounds of insignificance:
Wheatstraw is mentioned in the song "Letters Sent" by the band Half Man Half Biscuit on their 2005 album Achtung Bono. Jwicklatz (talk) 05:06, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
