[edit]This article still needs reliable references. Blogs do not count. Bubba73 (You talkin' to me?), 15:53, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Possible Removal
[edit]The sources for this article remain largely questionable and the person seems to be lacking in notoriety. Should this article be removed? (LowdownDog (talk) 19:28, 7 June 2011 (UTC))
- I've asked on the chess project page if anyone can reference it. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 20:07, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- I would say that U.S. Junior Champion + mysterious disappearance is enough for an article. The DVD set of Chess Life scans I have only covers 1933–1975, so you would have to find someone with magazines in 1978. It's possible that Chess Life didn't report his disappearance at the time; this is suggested in one of the responses at http://tartajubow.blogspot.com/2010/03/peter-winston-mystery.html. The best coverage is a piece in the Sept. 2007 CL which I also don't have, but might be able to look up at the library. A couple blog posts of interest: http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/movies/2011/03/chess-fever.html and http://gregschess.blogspot.com/2007/09/chess-mystery.html. There's supposed to be something at the Chess Ninja site as well, but I haven't looked for it. Quale (talk) 04:52, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think it is worth an article too. I may or may not have the Sept 2007 CL (somewhere). Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 05:33, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
