What about the use of Perfume on American Dad? That is how they are best known in the West among a number of people. Its got to be notable somewhere.Ottawakismet (talk) 03:41, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

The entire history has been copied from thePPN wiki's biography. I'm going to remove it if it's not changed within a few days. ~ Wapiko 23:14, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's been changed. ☆CharlesNguyễn 20:49, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is "FUURI-CL" ? I'm a Japanese, but I have never heard about it.--60.46.145.237 03:22, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the entire history section got revamped. However, it's been copied from Jpop Stop! wiki's page. So, should the page be reverted? Kazenokaze (talk) 07:12, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Other band with same name

[edit]

There was also a British "indie"/"Britpop"/alternative/whatever style band called Perfume in the mid 1990s or so. Don't think they're still around, and it's quite hard to find many references to them online (sadly this is even harder now due to all the stuff about the Japanese "Perfume"!), but I think they did seem to get a fair bit of radio play (by DJs such as Steve Lamacq at least) at the time.

So maybe there should be a disambiguation thingy of some sort? Any thoughts? I don't think I could make a page about them myself, I know too little about them to even make a stub. --OccasionalTomble 06:58, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If a page about that group could be created possibly under the title Perfume (band) if they play instruments or Perfume (British group) if they don't, then a disambig. link to that page could be placed at the top of this article using {{otheruses4|Japanese pop/techno group|British band|Perfume (band)}} seeing that it would be a stub, but there's no need for a disambig. to a non-existing article. ☆CharlesNguyễn 07:52, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have created a page at Perfume (band).--Michig 17:38, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Links to this Perfume and that Perfume were getting mixed up, as it turns out. I've moved that page to Perfume (UK band) and this one to Perfume (Japanese band) for naming consistency and to avoid it happening again - David Gerard (talk) 16:21, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Perfume is not a band, it is a group. As mentioned previously, the distinction is the playing of instruments. Page should be moved (again) to reflect this (like it did before the move). Winston Spencer (talk) 01:04, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Perfume (Japanese girl group) or something like that would be better. Shinkansen Fan (talk) 13:41, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

myspace page

[edit]

Erm.. they had an official MySpace page (complete with video, flash and everything), but the profile seems to have been deleted recently.. leaving an unofficial Perfume profile page there... so yeah.. don't add that one to the External links section... I wonder what happened to the real one - I hope the owners of the unofficial profile didn't like.. "dob them in" wrongfully or something :/ 58.96.65.248 12:37, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid that that page never was an official Perfume Myspace page, so maybe it was closed due to copyright infringement. --Ekuseru (talk) 00:08, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Photo perfume electro.jpg

[edit]

Image:Photo perfume electro.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Current

[edit]

The "Current" section has been copied from [1]'s main page. Please edit it or add a reference or it will be removed. It will be removed it if it's not changed within a few days. Ekuseru (talk) 19:14, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Many cites needed

[edit]

Many cites are needed. I've put in tags for (most?) of them, and could use some help finding the actual sites, especially since some appear to come from interviews and news stories that I'm not aware of. Any help is appreciated! Sutematsu (talk) 03:40, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll help you out. One of the previous Perfume version pages used to have more references until a user came along and entirely revamped the history page deleting all the references, so there might be citations to take from there. On another note, I still think the entire history is copied and pasted from a different site's wiki, but...whatever. Kazenokaze (talk) 20:16, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. I looked into the new page, and I found that it might be copied from the JPop Stop wiki...Or they might have copied from us. Do you know of any way that we can tell? Thanks again for your help! Sutematsu (talk) 23:50, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Cars 2 Premiere.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Cars 2 Premiere.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Kawayuka

[edit]
Could I get a source for the reading of Kawashima’s name? It’s difficult to check reliably because of her being relatively unknown, but after a few Google searches I’m fairly sure the name is read Yuka, not Yūka. Bakuryuu (talk) 12:33, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
She introduces herself as Kawashima Yuka at the end of [2]. Yūka wouldn't be shortened to Kawayuka. It's Yuka. Shinkansen Fan (talk) 13:33, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Other directors

[edit]

I think other directors of Team Perfume like Seki and Manabe need recognition here. MIKIKO is involved in the choreography by them and others.[3] Shinkansen Fan (talk) 13:59, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming

[edit]

As mentioned above, they are not a band but a girl group. They never perform with a band on stage. I request a move to Perfume (Japanese girl group). Shinkansen Fan (talk) 23:44, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"band" is specific enough in this case IMO, it's the conventional Wikipedia disambig for more than one musician with a group name. Per Wikipedia:Article_titles#Precision_and_disambiguation: "Usually, titles should be precise enough to unambiguously define the topical scope of the article, but no more precise than that." ... "For example, it would be inappropriate to title an article "Queen (rock band)", as Queen (band) is precise enough to distinguish the rock band from other uses of the term "Queen"." - David Gerard (talk) 15:48, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I always saw in Perfume a girl band and not a girlgroup since they formed themself. A girlgroup is for me formed by someone else. --Christian140 (talk) 08:27, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
