Fair use rationale for Image:Siouxsie Peekaboo.jpg

[edit]

Image:Siouxsie Peekaboo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

MTV airplay

[edit]

I cannot add this directly to the article itself because I cannot (yet) find a reliable source for verification, but in the hope that someone may succeed where I have failed I note that the video for this track was played for 13 consecutive weeks on MTV's 120 Minutes, which was a rare (and perhaps excessive) degree of exposure. --Geoff Capp (talk) 22:46, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Its very difficult to talk about the airplay amount after all the years but I'm sure that it was played often by mtv America at that time. I was born in the late 80s but i have talked to so many people who were teenagers at that time. And they have seen the video like KISS THEM FOR ME often on MTV. i THINK 120 minutes was broadcast very late at night when they were in bed

i have also read so many blogs where people who were young girls at that time spoke about it and said that it was a turning point in their lives because at that time they heard contemporary pop music but when they saw the video on mtv at that time many girls copied siouxsies style — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.4.30.129 (talk) 19:44, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hot 100 airplay virtually a wonder !

[edit]

Siouxsie and the banshees always had been a secret number in the usa

but it was 1988 when they first reached the us hot 100. i think it was something like a surprise. Mind that none of their singles before came in the near of the hot 100 or bubbling under hot 100

but why ? Was that MTV or radio which boosted their career ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.4.30.129 (talk) 19:51, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
