Descent: Italian or Greek?
[edit]According to the article, Paul Mercurio is the son of Gus Mercurio. According to that article "Mercurio originates from the Greek surname of Mercouri" and Gus's article has a category of "Australians of Greek descent", yet Paul's has "Australians of Italian descent".
The article on Gus could be wrong, this article could be wrong or Paul could have Italian ancestry through his mother. I don't have the knowledge to determine which is true, could someone with the appropriate knowledge please make the appropriate correction?

Gus's grandfather Agostino Mercurio was born 1854 in Termini Italy He was a fisherman who migrated to America around 1887. Gus's grandmother Giuseppa Maddalena was born in 1864 in Palermo, she migrated to the US in 1888.
Agostino's father was Antonio Mercurio (1804-1888) and Antonio's farther was Ignazio Mercurio (1787-1837)all three generations were fisherman living in Termini-Imerese, Sicily.
Gus's Father Vincent Mercurio was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1906. Gus's Mother Cecilia Miller was born in 1909 her father was John Miller a German and her mother Josephine Grab was Polish.
Paul's great Grandparents Thomas Francis Sullivan(1861-1929 and Sarah Ann James (1862-1934) were both born in Benella Victoria. Thomas's farther was Thomas Sullivan was from Limerick and his mother Catherine McCormick Tipperary, they left Ireland just prior to the potato famine.
Paul's Great Great Grandparents -the parents of Sarah Ann James - were Evan James (1838-1904) who came from Carmarthen, Wales and Sarah Ann Thisleton (1844-1905) was born in Benella.
That should clarify lineage.

Clarifying some of the citation questions and incorrect dates for the article
[edit]There are some questions and inconsistencies I would like to address on the article about Paul Mercurio. However as I am Paul Mercurio it has been pointed out that I should put the points here and leave it to others to make the changes if they see fit so this is the beginning of that process.
First citation: I did join the Sydney Dance Company in 1982 and worked my up to a principal role over the ten years I was with the company. I left the Company around June 1992 to form my own Company.
The AFI nomination for Best Actor in a Feature Film was for the 1992 Australian Film Awards not 1993.
The documentary Life's Burning Desire documented the setting up of Australian Choreographic Ensemble following the choreographic rehearsals for the premiere performance of it's first dance work - "Contact". In it I talked a bit about my life but it certainly stopped short of being a documentary about my life. I was a producer on the project. It was not my 'debut' into the world of TV as I had been on Television prior to this work.
I was nominated for a Logie award - Most Outstanding category for my performance in Day Of the Roses.
In April 2017 I played the main role in an independent movie called "A Silent Agreement" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6427368/
I no longer teach students at Dance World Studios and in fact I do not teach dance at all.
These are corrections on what is written there is much more I could add regarding my TV shows and cooking, cook books I have published etc
I have done an oral history on my life which is available at the National Film and Sound Archive. If anyone wishes to follow this up I would appreciate it.
